Our Unique Intergenerational Approach
The need for Early Childhood Education in Colorado far outweighs supply (First 5 Years Fund), and “70% of ECE program directors have difficulty finding qualified staff” (Early Milestones).
At the same time, older adults are the fastest-growing workforce age group in Colorado (Age Matters: Colorado Population Trends) who nevertheless are disproportionately overlooked.
ECSC’s innovative answer: a pipeline of well trained, qualified, adults aged 50+ matched for meaningful volunteering or employment as Early Childhood support staff, positively impacting older adults, allowing ECE providers to expand access to quality care, and strengthening communities.
ECSC’s unique curriculum satisfies state requirements, while our Cohort training model provides adults age 50+ the opportunity to build community with those learning around them as they move from training to being individually placed for vital work or volunteering in their communities.
