Early Childhood Service Corps (ECSC), a program under Montessori Intergenerational Learning Communities 501(c)(3), is an educational training and employment support program that addresses challenges for both aging adults and the Early Childhood Education field.
Our Mission is to integrate older adults into the field of Early Childhood; fostering a future where all children have access to high-quality educational experiences, and contributing to the health and wellbeing of older adults in our communities.
ECSC provides free, online training and support for adults aged 50+ to successfully serve or work in the field of early childhood, and partners with licensed Early Childhood care providers across Colorado. -
Classroom Volunteer: Assist with small group work, reading, crafts, and other activities to support early childhood centers.
Encore Staff: Train to become a qualified early childhood substitute teacher through our free, virtual program. This role is a paid position.
Volunteer Business Advisor: Use business expertise to help early childhood centers achieve their business goals.

Must be a Colorado resident for at least a year
Must be 50 years of age or older
Must be able to pass a background check
Must be able to attend synchronous classes

All training is free and conducted through online modules (Zoom).
ECSC Classroom Volunteers receive 19 hours of ECSC coursework instruction, upon completion of the coursework are matched with an ECSC Partner Site to volunteer.
ECSC Encore Staff receive 19 hours of ECSC instruction, as well as complete ECE 1011 and 1031 through ECSC’s affiliation with Red Rocks Community College, and participate in Partner Site observations and internships. Encore Staff are matched for employment with an ECSC Partner Site upon successful completion of the coursework.

Classes begin in the fall and spring semesters, recruitment is year round.
Our application process can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month depending on scheduling, so we encourage you to sign up today and get started with the necessary steps.

Between cohort recruitments interested folks can join our Cohort Waitlist. -
To receive services for your site from ECSC, you must become an ECSC Partner Site.
Steps will be sent to you after ECSC receives your Site Interest FormAn invitation to come to an ECSC Partner Site Information Session will be sent after ECSC has received your interest form.
The final steps are an ECSC Site Application, a Site Visit, and then completing an MOU and Membership Agreement.
